Fermixtape Over Whole Rest #1

THE THEME: Wrestler theme songs that should happen. Tracklist after the jump.

KEY: A = Andrew, J = John, M = Matt

#1 “See The Leaves” by Flaming Lips-A: The moment this song starts, it’s just like “dude, someone is gonna get fuuuuuucked uuuuuuppp.”
#2 “Bad Penny” by Big Black-J: It’s jangly and uncomfortable to listen to and perfect for some crafty shit to come out with, weapon in hand.
#3 “King of the Beach” by Wavves-M: A song for the Cali-area stormin’ hand of reckoning, must have a giant blonde mullet and a surf board.
#4 “Movement” by LCD Soundsystem-A: The build-up takes a while, but in the end it is worth it to understand the pain that is about to hit the opponent.
#5 “Heaven” by The Rapture-J: Singalong and clapping is vital to concerts and wrestling shows, and Heaven has a great singalong intro, along with a driving beat.
#6 “Power” by Kanye West-M: “I guess every super hero needs his own theme music.”
#7  “Dirty Harry” by Gorillaz-A: It’s got the walking out part, it’s got the sinister break in with the children singing and clapping, and then gets fucking raw.
#8 “Evil” by Interpol-J: Evil sets a mood like few songs I can think of, and the sheer force that the guitars barge into the song with justify it on their own.
#9 “Crown on the Ground” by Sleigh Bells-M: Starts off somewhat irritating, like most of Sleigh Bells, but it’s the only song on the album that accurately recreates the booming sound of a wrestler’s theme.
#10 “BOOM!” by The Roots-A: This just calls for a lot of prancing around, being an asshole, but again, totally called for.
#11 “Atrocity Exhibition” by Joy Division-J: As it builds, it’s truly foreboding- something real rotten is going to go down once that starts playing.
#12 “Little Secrets” by Passion Pit-M:This is for only the most flamboyant of wrestler, pink tassels ALWAYS applicable.
#13 “A Different City” by Modest Mouse-A: Clanging opening and whatnot, perfect for your alt wrestler.
#14 “Die Slow” by HEALTH-J: Half drone, half death march, all forceful and all awesome.
#15 “Harder Better Faster Stronger” by Daft Punk-M: Not the best sounding song for a wrestler but the lyrics are what send the message across: Harder, better, faster, stronger, baby.
#16 “May-December” by Mos Def-A:This may be one of the calmest hip-hop instrumentals, and it’s really difficult to justify, but I think it fits. There.
#17 “Let’s Not Wrestle Mt. Heart Attack” by Liars-J: It has Wrestle in the name, and also, Mt. Heart Attack is the best name for a finisher ever.
#18 “Comfort Eagle” by Cake-M:Comfort Eagle sounds like a song made for a guy who is up to some sketchy business; motherfucker has a plan, and it involves your head and a blunt object, or something covered in wires.
#19 TV Eye-The Stooges: If the three of us were going to come down and beat the fuck out of people, if the heaviest thing of your life was getting ready to come down on you, this is what would be playing.
